The sorry and tragic state of black education and its attendant problems will not be turned around until there’s a change in what’s acceptable behavior and what’s unacceptable behavior.

Parents, students and teachers in the marketplace, acting freely, imaginatively, creatively and rationally, will solve the problem of education for far less money and without all the government interference, rigidity and politics.

In terms of academic achievement, home-schoolers beat out their public school counterparts.

According to the National Assessment of Educational Progress, sometimes called the Nation’s Report Card, nationally, most black 12th-graders’ test scores are either basic or below basic in reading, writing, math and science.

If you want schools to do better, get the government the hell out of schooling. But that’s only a start. Next, put the task of reason and intelligence into education itself — with the central and overriding goal of education being a well-trained mind.

College has become a scam thanks to government intervention in the education marketplace.

Government force does not lead to high quality education. It leads to expensive and mediocre education.

By what standard of rationality or fairness do we look at society as a “village” where some members may impose their will on other members regarding matters of raising children?

If you send your children to a private school, you are not a bad person. And anyone who claims otherwise is a monster.

Liberal professors have trashed the liberal arts, by converting so many liberal arts courses into indoctrination centers for left-wing causes and fads, instead of courses where students learn how to weigh conflicting views of the world for themselves.

The very name “Common Core” is collectivist (i.e. socialist, communistic) in its orientation. It’s not a conspiracy; it’s deliberate. The bureaucratic intellectuals in Washington DC and elsewhere think this is a good thing.

Let’s update college indoctrination done in the name of education.

Thinking merged with indoctrination — imposing any kind of agenda from authority — is not education; it’s schooling.

Admitting students strictly on the basis of their academic qualifications, which might seem to be common sense, is rejected by many college admissions committees.

The best that politicians can do is to give parents and children who are serious about education a mechanism to opt out of rotten schools. That option is something the education establishment fights tooth and nail against.

Government freebies foster mediocre education — and expensive mediocre education, at that.

Focusing only on Professor Gruber’s arrogance, we ignore the more important fact that he is highly representative of the academic mindset — the people who are brainwashing our youngsters.

You can’t have it both ways, Jeb. Either the federal government controls the whole thing, or it doesn’t.

Colleges admitting underperforming black students conceal, foster and perpetuate the educational damages done to these youngsters in their earlier education.

Homeschoolers do just fine. Somehow, without government control, they prosper.
